School Mentoring Project

An holistic assessment of a pilot pre-GCSE pupil mentoring scheme. Reviewed mentor and pupil postal questionnaires and interviewed directors and senior executives at the largest local employers, the Chief Executive and senior staff of the District Council, support and funding agencies and school head teachers and staff.

The value gained:

• Confirmed the enormous benefit gained by pupils.
• Revealed strong support to continue the scheme.
• Highlighted necessary organisational/ operational changes.
